The second phase of the PPRD East Programme was launched in 2014 as a continuation of the Flagship Initiative implementation under the Eastern Partnership with the objective to contribute to peace, stability, security and prosperity of the Eastern Partnership Countries. The Programme aims at contributing to the development of the Partner Countries’ civil protection capacities for disaster prevention, preparedness and response and at bringing the Partner Countries progressively closer to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism while also improving cooperation among themselves.

As the Programme is coming to the end, the main aim of the Final Conference and the 5th Steering Committee meeting is to present the Programme’s achievements and results, and to discuss and further enhance dialogue and cooperation between the Partner Countries, the European Commission and the EU Civil Protection Mechanism Participating States in the area of civil protection and disaster risk management. Each Partner Countries’ delegation is expected to make a 15-minutes presentation on enhanced regional cooperation and cooperation with the European Commission and the EU Civil Protection Mechanism Participating States, and on Programme’s national accomplishments. Ideas and proposals on future cooperation in these fields will be welcome. The working languages will be English and Russian with simultaneous interpretation provided.
