The civil protection volunteerism (CPV) is implemented within the PPRD East 2 Programme at two levels – regional and national. At the regional level, the Study tour to Finland and Denmark has been organised in September 2016 and Regional Workshop on CPV in May 2017.

At the national level, a national Working Group on Civil Protection Volunteerism (CPV WG) has been established in Belarus with an objective to develop a law on volunteerism in civil protection activities, as well as a database of volunteers and volunteering organisations.

The second meeting of the Belarus CPV WG meeting was held on 27 February 2018 in Minsk. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Belarus Red Cross Society together with the PPRD East 2 experts discussed various subjects related to the CP volunteerism, including further development of the Belarus legal framework for CPV, milestones and activities in the pilot project for creation of voluntary fire monitoring brigades, involvement of volunteers in prevention activities in the framework of cross-border projects, etc.
