Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters in the Eastern Partnership Countries

EU-funded Flagship Initiative increasing disaster risk management capacities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The PPRD East 2 team has been invited to participate in international Kyiv-Warsaw Forum: “Developing cooperation in reducing chemical threats and enhancing chemical safety and security and voluntary fire service”, which was organised by the Centre for Chemical Safety and Security in Warsaw, the Ukrainian Fire and Technological Safety Union, Association of Mayors of Ukraine in cooperation with Chief Inspector For Environment Protection in Poland, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, and the OSCE Project Coordinator in Kyiv on 17 August in Kyiv, Ukraine. 

The Forum demonstrated and promoted bilateral, national and international programs in the area of chemical and environmental safety and security as important instruments to enhance national and regional security and to reduce chemical threats. The important objective of the Forum was to develop the transborder cooperation to reduce environmental threats and promote cooperation to minimise threats from hazardous chemicals in accordance with the EU policies and practices, and to discuss cooperation in the development of Voluntary Fire Brigades in Ukraine.
