Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters in the Eastern Partnership Countries

EU-funded Flagship Initiative increasing disaster risk management capacities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS) has invited the PPRD East 2 expert team to share the experience of the PPRD East 2 in enhancing civil protection and disaster risk management system in Ukraine and in bringing Ukraine closer to the EU CP Mechanism, and in preparation and organisation of international full-scale field exercise.

Bilateral seminar was hosted on 28 March 2018 by ICCSS in Warsaw, Poland with an objective to explore complementarities and synergies between the PPRD East 2 Programme and the EU-CHEM-REACT Project. The EU-CHEM-REACT is the international project on testing planning and preparedness to CBRN threats in Ukraine, promoting local awareness and responsibility in chemical safety and security. The project, financed by the European Union, was developed and is implemented by an international consortium of Lithuanian, Ukraine and Polish partners, and in the partnership with the OSCE project Coordination Office in Kyiv, and the International Centre for Chemical Safety and Security (ICCSS) in Warsaw, as the international coordinator.
