Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters in the Eastern Partnership Countries

EU-funded Flagship Initiative increasing disaster risk management capacities in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

The 6 Partner Countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) will benefit from an additional six months support from the PPRD East 2 Programme that has been extended until the end of May 2019 by the European Commission. This 6-months extension will allow to continue working on further development and enhancement of Partner Countries’ national Civil Protection and Disaster Risk Management systems through approximation to the EU Civil Protection acquis communicative and good practice, to further work on regional cooperation among the Partner Countries and to continue working on bringing Partner Countries closer to the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

The  PPRD East Programme is the EU-funded Flagship Initiative aiming to increase disaster risk management capacities and capabilities of Eastern Partnership countries thus improving protection of population from negative consequences of man-made and disasters caused by natural hazards in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
