PPRD East 2 Team, composed of the Team Leader Sergej Anagnosti, Capacity Building Key Expert Antonín Petr, Disaster Risk Prevention Expert Dr Roberto Rudari and Disaster Loss Data Expert Dr Marco Massabo visited the Joint Research Centre of the European Union on 11 May 2015. The meeting took place in the JRC Institute for the Protection and Security of the Citizen, and the following topics were discussed:

1) ERRA and it interoperability with the EU monitoring networks like GDACS, EFAS, EFFIS

2) EU methodology for disaster loss data collection and processing

3) opportunities to link disaster loss data database with ERRA

4) JRC software search engine used to extract information from global electronic media and possibility to use it as media information extractor at the PPRD East 2 web site.

The agreement was reached to establish regular update of both sides on the progress of disaster risk assessment, and disaster loss data activities, to continue exploring opportunities and possibilities for JRC to take over ERRA once the PPRD East 2 Programme is concluded, and to participate, depending of the availability of resources, at events organised by PPRD East 2 and by JRC.
